What are the posts offered through SSC CPO Exam?

Staff Selection Commission Central Police Organization) is conducted to recruit Sub Inspectors through Computer Based Exams and Physical Endurance Test. In 2017 SSC CPO notified 2200 vacancies for Sub Inspector Post. According to the latest SSC Annual Calendar 2018-19, SSC CPO 2018 Exam is expected to come out in the month of March 2018.   1. Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police
  2. Sub-Inspector in Border Security Force (BSF)
  3. Sub-Inspector in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)
  4. Sub-Inspector in Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)
  5. Sub-Inspector in Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBPF)
  6. Sub-Inspector in Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB)
  7. Assistant Sub-Inspector in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)

Work Profile of SSC CPO

  1. When are selected through SSC CPO exam, you will be selected as a Sub Inspector with either the Delhi Police, the CAPF or as Assistant Sub Inspector in CISF.
  2. The CAPF is a Para military forcewhich is also known as the Central Armed Police Forces.
  3. It is not a direct wing of the Military.
  4. It comes in the Home Ministry.
  5. The CAPF has following forces under it:
-                    BSF (Border Security Force)
-                    CISF (Central Industrial Security Force)
-                    CRPF (Central Reserved Police Force)
-                    ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police)
-                    SSB (Seema Suraksha Bal)
  1. Role of BSFis to guard the border between India and Pakistan.
  2. Role of CISFis to endow with security to various PSU’s and other important infrastructures.
  3. Role of CRPFis an anti-riot and anti – Naxal force.
  4. Role of ITBP is to look after the border between India and China (from Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh)
  5. Role of SSB is to look after Indo – Nepal and Indo – Bhutan borders.
  6. Role of SI (Delhi Police)is to maintain law and order.
Note: In case you have joined the CAPF, then you will be placed all over India.

Salary Structure and Pay Scale of posts under SSC CPO

1. Sub Inspector (Executive) – (Male/ Female) in Delhi Police:

Pay Scale for this post is of Level 6 i..e Rs. 35,400/-  to Rs. 112400/-. It is classified as Group C – Non-Gazetted by Delhi Police.

2. Sub-Inspector (GD) in CAPFs : (Central Armed Police Forces)

Pay scale for this post has Level-6 i.e Rs.35400-112400/-It is classified as Group ‘B’ (Non-Gazetted), Non-Ministerial.

3. Assistant Sub-Inspector (Executive) in CISF

Pay scale for this post has Level-5 i.e Rs.29200-92300. It  classified as Group ‘C’ (Non-Gazetted).
